History
Edith Leblanc was founded in 2024 when Amber finally convinced Edith of the quality in Edith’s self-written music. It took a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to help Edith recognize her immense talent, and it remains a challenge to this day.
Edith and Amber first met in 2017, and Amber was consistently inspired by Edith’s musical expertise. A few performances here and there, and some busking on the Meir in Antwerp, provided them with valuable experience. In 2023, they met the extraordinary guitarist Nick, and their connection/vibe as a musical trio was instant.
Meet our band
Edith Leblanc is the lead vocalist of this singer-songwriter trio. She writes inspiring and intriguing lyrics, revealing a dark past filled with peaks and deep valleys. Edith infuses our music with authenticity, sincerity, and the raw reality of life and emotions. Her compelling storytelling not only draws you into her story but also invites you to connect with your own personal journey.
Nick van Gils is truly remarkable man. Not only does he master the six-string guitar, but he also bravely takes on the four-string bass. The musical uniqueness that defines Nick is captivating and impossible to ignore. Nick brings an undeniable energy to every rehearsal and performance, displaying a calm confidence that anchors our sound. With his subtle tones and precisely timed sounds, Nick is the driving force behind our sound. Plus, we never overlook Nick’s harmonious vocals.
Amber Christiaens brings tight rhythms and dynamic beats that energize our music. With a self-taught background in both drums and cajon, Amber adds a unique and authentic flair to our sound. Amber and Nick’s powerful enthusiasm and engaging serenity complement each other perfectly.
Our inspiration
Our music is a mix of indie/catchy pop with a touch of folk…. We draw inspiration from artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Mumford and Sons, Hudson Taylor, and many others, but we add our own unique twist and perspective. Each song tells story -Edith’s story, and likely the story of many others – experimenting with fitting melodies and rhythmic patterns to create a unique listening experience.
Now what makes our music just a tad more special is the cohesion and synergy within the band. The guitarists, drummer, and bassist each contribute their parts not in isolation but as a unified whole. While Edith provides the guiding thread and central narrative, together we form one cohesive voice. Regardless of the instrument being played, we make sure that our music resonated as a harmonious and idealistic utopia.
